The Higher Polytechnic School of Chimborazo has had the following research laboratories since 2020:

Thematic areas of research
Molecular diagnostic tests, research and treatment of chronic and infectious diseases, regenerative therapy, development of new generation vaccines and medicines (biopharmaceuticals).
Design of microorganisms for the production of chemical products or the use of enzymes as catalysts in the food industry, alternative technologies, chemistry, textiles, paper, production of biodegradable plastics, vegetable oils and biofuels.
Production of more efficient, nutritious crops, with added value, and less dependent on agro-inputs, animal genetics, animal genetics, plant genetics and animal assisted reproduction biotechnology.
Maritime, aquatic and terrestrial environments, research associated with the study and conservation of biodiversity, especially threatened species and ecosystems, the development of protected areas, environmental restoration, and the recovery of contaminated environments (bioremediation), development of applications for aquaculture , health care, cosmetics and food products.
